As a former Marine, this book brings back so many memories. Narrated through the letters written by the author during his rough 13 weeks in bootcamp, Send More Stamps is a story of one recruit's hardship of earning the title "Marine." Everything that one feels and goes through while in basic training is written in these letters and it reminded me of the trials that I personally went through and overcame to reach my accomplishment of becoming a Marine.
I highly recommend this book if you have ever served, plan to serve, or even thought about serving in the United States military.
This was a good quick read that shed insight to the world of Marine boot camp from the eyes of a recruit. I read this the day after my son left for bootcamp. It really helped calm some of my fears and worries about boot camp. I recommend this for any friend or family member of a recruit.
